Look closely my friends and you will see the terror
of the Sunset Strip, punk riots that is, the most
marvelous Keith Morris. Here he is at the former
STARDUST BALLROOM ('tears...') which is...WAS
a block between the Hollywood Fwy and Gower.
This photo was from the first time I VIDEOTAPED
them in 1984, a nice dark venue though not good
for those old cameras, and the sound, well not my
usual best yet I LOVED THAT PLACE... and I
taped the CJs for 10 years and later now.
THESE PICS I HAVE BEEN SHOWING ARE
RIGHT FROM my RECORDINGS from back then.

HERE'S 2 photos that go with the other pic of TSOL 1984
at the Olympic Aud which is near the 10 & 110 Fwys in L.A.
THAT'S " ROACH " bassist Mike Roche TATTOO ARTIST
who has worked right down from the Whiskey for years.
TRUE SOUNDS OF LIBERTY and that's Mike, right there.
TSOL, that's a band that has songs about the Viet Nam
war which might be relevant to today, if you don't mind
people flying planes into your office space. Yeah, yeah
WAR IS BAD but we are not lemmings. This band also
has had 2 lead singers who are somewhat related by
sisters or marriage or something one singer more Jazz
bluesy JOE WOOD, the middle singer & the original,
also NOW singer is JACK GRESHAM -we see no pics
of either here today- don't want to confuse anyone-
I'm lazy...and Jack also was one of the contestants who
ran for GOVERNATOR of CaliforNEEA. When I saw
Jack recently he was almost embarrassed that he
did that, I told him it was really great that he did.

The Smuts are a non-crusty
band since they are only about 13
years old compared the
old decreped punks, like me.
I first saw them in Pedro then

taped them a couple of times, and
my friend Candy taped them up in
Chico up where she lives.
The Smut Peddlers
are great! Be sure to see them soon
as they do travel about.

True Sounds of Liberty of the OC Scene
1984 and one of my first tapings and the first
at the Olympic Auditorium in L.A. I had decided
it was time to get INTO the scene I had been
inhabiting anyway for years ( Punk Rock Saved
My Life ) At the Cathay de Grande I asked the
doorman if he thought I could videotape a band there.
He then introduced me to the Manager then, of T.S.O.L.
who said come and listen, and later invited to tape
at them the Olympic where the above photo was made-
DOES ANYONE KNOW WHY THIS PHOTO IS UNIQUE?
ANSWER & new punk listings...
the story here is that this TSOL did not have our Gubenetorial
Candidate JACK GRESHAM but JOE WOOD...
see, that's ARAB ERIC of LOVE CANAL doing the stage.
