I filmed in Long Beach my first event of 2009
and I had messed up my shoulder rescuing a
kitty from a closed abandoned neighboring house.
So it might be a little shakey, but Social Unrest
and Ill Repute WERE GREAT! I originally taped
Ill Repute in May 1984!!! @ the Stardust Ballroom
in Hollywood

• I was once a NardCore Virgin
many many years ago
in the Time of the Scene
I was an adolescent punker
there were many important
facts of SCENE life that were
still not of my knowledge
I WAS A NARDCORE VIRGIN !!!
I had seen the SCENE: smelled,
yelled,felt,spent,drank,skank, *
slammed,damned,
redhotchilipeppered,
45 graved,topjimmyed,
GBHed, cathayed
and beastieboyed...
BUT I NEVER DID
NARDCORE
until...
I read a flyer, the SCENE public
service announcement, about a free concert
in the day at the FEDERAL BLDG on Wilshire in West L.A.
Public property punk rock bands time to test my new
vhs video equipment good lighting and good sound
so we saddled up and trekked out down the 405...
The FEDERAL BLDG in L.A. long known for the
signs of the disenfranchised , protesters and like
today was the venue for the disenfranchised who
didn't care if we were or not disenfranchised .
The SCENE was bright, it was usually dark and dank
AND yet it was NICE here
we were flying kites, sitting on the grass
all reminiscent of hippie gatherings yes and NOT-
For one thing there was a large daytime slampit
between the picnicing and the bands
contrary to what one might think a slampit is not fighting,
more like inmates in a Turkish prison -a constant
herding of people, only faster and to the music.
and the music -punk rock excitment and what was this
high spirited band, none other than STALAG 13
a NARDCORE BAND? What did this mean? NARDCORE ?
